Fall Events Reminder

Fall is here and we have two fun, and very different events, we’re excited to remind you about.

First off, our second annual Bowl-A-Thon is just around the corner on Sunday, October 21. Don’t worry sports fans, there is NO Packer game that day and the World Series doesn’t start until the next day. We still have open lanes available! The Lanes on 20 is the place to be for a Sunday Funday filled with food, bowling and raffle items.

For a night out, head to Coins Sports Bar in Kenosha on Saturday November 10 where our friends, Well Known Strangers, are hosting a benefit concert with proceeds benefiting KossFF. Tickets are $10 each and that includes the show, food, beer and a chance to win $100!

Bring the family out in October or enjoy adult time in November and meet our newest Board of Directors and learn about the services we provide for cancer fighting families throughout the state. We can’t wait to see you soon!

Upcoming Fall Events

With fall right around the corner, we wanted to share a quick update to tell you about a couple events we have coming up and would love for you to attend!

First off, the Koss Family Foundation would like to invite you to participate in our second annual Bowl-A-Thon held at The Lanes on 20 on Sunday, October 21st, 2018. To reserve your spot as a general bowler, we are asking for a $15 donation per person which will include three hours of unlimited bowling, shoe rental, and lunch. We are also actively recruiting sponsors for the event to help make this day possible. Please visit our Contact page to get in touch if you are interested in sponsoring a lane or would like to submit a raffle item such as a gift basket or gift card!

The next event we have planned is a benefit concert featuring local favorites Haley Klinkhammer and Well-Known Strangers at Coins Sports Bar in Kenosha, WI on Saturday November 10th, 2018. Tickets will be available at the door as well as online. For each $10 donation, attendees will enjoy live music, tap beer, food and will also be entered to win a $100 grand prize giveaway. Other activities include a 50/50 fundraiser and a few other small raffle items.

Proceeds from these events help pay everyday living expenses for cancer fighting patients throughout Wisconsin so the focus can be on recovery and maintaining quality of life. Please visit our Upcoming Events page for more information and ways to purchase tickets in advance. We hope to see you there!

Exciting Projects at KossFF

Our summer has been quite busy behind the scenes here at KossFF.  Andrew Quella from New Ink Media Co. has made some fantastic updates to the website as we continue to grow the foundation to support more families throughout Wisconsin.

This year, several new board members have joined the KossFF team to help plan events and execute our mission. You can visit the updated Who We Are page to meet the new team. Thanks Andrew for the amazing portraits!

Next, we developed an online Gift Shop where you can purchase event tickets and sponsorship packages directly from your desktop computer or mobile smartphone! If transacting via the Gift Shop we ask that you please print your order confirmation and bring it to the event to streamline registration. In the future we plan to add other KossFF goods that sport our branding and logo to help get the word out. More updates to come on that!

Lastly, the Donation page now has a fresh look and the ability to accept donations without ever leaving the KossFF website! The new tool tracks donations on a monthly basis, allowing us to set goals and share progress along the way. Our goal for August is to raise $3,000 in online donations which translates to assisting three families who are undergoing cancer treatment and need help with everyday bills. Throughout the month we will be sharing updates via social on our progress and encourage supporters like you to submit a one-time or (or better yet) recurring monthly donation.

We continue to work hard to provide funding to cancer patients all across the state.  These updates and donations are crucial to support that mission so please show your love by spreading the word about our cause! And don't forget to submit a recurring monthly donation so we can hit our monthly goal and raise $3,000 in online donations.

Joining Forces at Rock the Harbor

Giving back to the communities we serve has always been a big part of our mission at Koss Family Foundation. This year we are excited to announce our involvement with Rock the Harbor, a music festival that will be held at Pershing Park June 14-17th.  Route 20 is bringing back a staple event all music lovers in Racine have missed for the past 10 years.

When you attend this event you will be supporting three areas of need in the community.  Funds raised through ticket sales will support the Racine Park & Rec Department to help fund community youth programs. Proceeds from the cans recycled from the beverage sales will support the Tiny Homes project by Veterans Outreach. KossFF will be sponsoring the 50/50 Raffles every day of the event with proceeds supporting families fighting a cancer diagnosis.

Tickets are on sale now! Join forces with us and help make our communities stronger. Together we can make a difference.

Having Faith

When I started KossFF in 2015, I knew my work would make a difference in the lives of families who were in my situation, battling a family member's cancer diagnosis. I had faith that KossFF could make that difference.  Three years later, after countless hours of hard work, sheer determination and  an unconditional belief that KossFF can make a difference, my faith is intact.  All the work is justified when KossFF receives emails from our grant recipients such as Pam Leonard, who graciously allowed me to share her story:

I wish to thank you again for your financial gift. This has helped me tremendously. I was diagnosed November 24th, 2017 with Ductal Carcinoma Invasive Breast Cancer. I had the lumpectomy on December 26th, 2017. I will begin my chemo treatments on March 1st, for three months, every three weeks, followed by six weeks of radiation. I have three beautiful daughters and three wonderful grandchildren, they are my inspiration and I will fight this disease with all my might.

I cannot thank you enough.

Pam Leonard

Our team cannot do our work without the support from the community.  Join us in helping families like Pamela's on Saturday March 24 at The Branch 1501 for Art in the Big Easy as we raise money to provide financial assistance to more families in 2018.
